It is with great sadness that Better Burque shares the news that Albuquerque’s first fully protected bike lane is no more.
Erected with little fanfare or discussion, the lane’s barricades – the one spot in all of Albuquerque where we had an entire glorious block of street set aside emphatically for safe cycling – have been removed. Let’s all remember fondly the smile on Scot’s face as we staged this photo:
I am happy to report no one was parking in the lane this morning. I choose to remain optimistic that will continue.
