I’d like to report this as “Winrock Mall closes street to vehicular traffic to create pedestrian mall,” but the fact drivers can’t turn from Pennsylvania NE into Winrock isn’t about us/that. Well, at least directly.

While I very much enjoyed seeing drivers prevented from turning off Pennsylvania NE into Winrock while I took this photo yesterday, the reason for closure is something about the Water Authority job installing a pipeline.

Nevertheless, the Water Authority is apparently really good about closing stuff off, and the Winrock Loop area in red above is currently a de facto pedestrian mall until the end of the month.

BB is is no way actually stating that anyone should walk or roll along this vehicular closed area, because it’s “closed,” but can you imagine how many meetings would have to happen before walker/rollers could have anywhere close to this number of jersey barriers installed for any bike/ped project?!? I can’t count that high.
The project is again reminder that “Road Closed” is very often one of the best roadsigns a walker/roller can ever see. Hope you see some while walking/rolling this weekend in all this February heat.
