My single favorite Albuquerque event, non-motorized or otherwise, starts later this morning at 11:00. Marching, or slowly cycling, down Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from UNM to Civic Plaza is a highlight of any year.

Like any year, the reasons for the march are both generally joyous and pointedly poignant in early 2018. Moreover, the fairly recent bikeway improvements along MLK add another touch of festive green paint and thoughtful flex posts to the proceedings.

I wonder what the signs will look like and say/urge this pointedly poignant year…
